Find Services

  • Find mental health services through the LA County Department of Mental Health via the 24/7 Help Line. 800-854-7771, or text “LA” to 741741
  • Get information and referrals through 211 LA County’s online database, or call 2-1-1. If outside of LA County, dial (800) 339-6993 direct.
  • NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Health) offers free education programs and support via NAMI Westside LA or NAMI Urban LA, or call 800-950-6264 (M-F, 7a – 3p PT).
  • SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) offers substance abuse help. Call 800-662-4357.
  • Connect to the CalHOPE Warm Line to connect to mental health support and resources. Call 833-317-HOPE (4673)

For Teens / Youth

  • The TEEN LINE helps teenagers by talking, chatting, texting, or emailing with other teens. Call 310-855-4673 or text “TEEN” to 839863.
  • California Coalition for Youth’s Crisis Line offers 24/7 and bilingual support. Call 800-843-5200.
  • The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) administers California’s Medicaid program and specialty mental health services for children and youth. Visit the MHP Directory to connect with a provider.

For LGBTQ

  • Visit the Los Angeles LGBT Center to find local services.
  • The Trevor Project: Call 866-488-7386 or text “START” to 678678 to get crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ+ young people under 25. You can also chat online.
  • Trans Lifeline connects trans people to community, support, and resources. Call 877-565-8860.
  • LGBT National Help Center provides free and confidential peer support and local resources.
  • It Gets Better Project inspires LGBTQ+ storytelling and reminds the next generation of LGBTQ+ youth that hope and support.

For Veterans

  • The Wounded Warrior Project provides free services and programs to veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving, and their families.
  • LACDMH’s Veterans Peer Access Network (VPAN) is a community-driven support network serving veterans and their families. Call (800) 854-7771 – ext. 3, 9am to 9pm.
